A number of pre- and post-visit resources have been developed to extend the learning of students participating in the Getting the Message program (where students create a community health campaign). The resources address the Victorian Health and Physical Education curriculum at Years 9 and 10. They also support English and the Capabilities at Years 9 and 10.

The activities allow students to gain knowledge about road safety before their Road to Zero excursion, and to reflect on the video they developed and their behaviour as road users post-visit.

While all the activities are stand-alone, the following resources have been designed as a sequence to provide a more in-depth understanding of health campaigns:

  • TAC road safety campaigns – ‘Then and Now’
  • Analysing road safety campaigns
  • Road safety campaigns - targeting the message.
